Local Support Vessels:

For clients engaged in seismic surveys, cable laying operations, or other marine activities, Geotek Sciences offers appropriate local MS Class vessels for chase boats, Crew boats and Supply Vessels.
The use of vessels as chase vessels is to intercept any incoming vessels that might damage cables being hauled or laid on the seabed..
Our effort is to deploy vessels and crew which are familiar with seismic projects and area of operations. Onshore & Offshore Fishing Liaison Officer & Socialisation Teams

Our onshore socialisation teams comprising of personnel from ex- fisheries department, personally visit fishing villages nearby survey area to notify fishermen about the survey and keep them updated of the measures they should take while fishing.
The role of the Onshore Fisheries Liaison Officers would be to keep local fishermen informed of ongoing work on major projects within the area. This allows local fishermen to understand the potential hazards and plan their fishing activities accordingly.

Fisheries Liaison onshore coordination involves:

  • Supporting and advising the FLO on any fisheries matters arising from the work.
  • Mobilising and demobilising offshore liaison personnel to meet client’s requirements
  • Mobilising and demobilising guard vessels or chase boats assigned to the project
  • Provision of replacements for long running projects.
  • Provision of reports on a daily or weekly basis as required by the client

Each Fisheries Liaison Officer is certificated to the highest standards necessary to work offshore. Certification includes Sea Survival and Medicals applicable to the marine sector.
